Omiš sits about 40 minutes down the coast from Split, where the emerald River Cetina cuts straight through the mountains to the sea. It's the easiest big-adventure day you can have in Dalmatia — and the zipline is the centrepiece.

Leave Split mid-morning and you'll be standing in Omiš old town within the hour. The town is tiny, walkable and framed by a dramatic gorge — the same gorge you'll soon be flying across on eight steel cables.

Morning: arrive & explore

Park in our free private lot 200 m from the agency, grab a coffee on Poljička square and wander the narrow stone streets. If you've got energy, the climb to the Mirabella fortress rewards you with the best view in town.

Midday: fly the Cetina canyon

This is why you came. Meet at the Zipline agency 15 minutes before your slot, sign the participation statement, and our van whisks you up to the starting point at Podašpilje. After a quick training session on two short practice cables, you'll spend the next couple of hours gliding across the canyon — the longest cable runs a heart-in-mouth 700 metres, 150 metres above the riverbed.

Some of the best views we had all week were from the zip lines themselves. Good value, and safety came first. Claire R · Tripadvisor

Afternoon: river & sea

Back in town by mid-afternoon, cool off with a swim where the river meets the Adriatic, or take a short boat ride up the Cetina. Then it's an easy drive back to Split, buzzing and salty, in time for dinner.
